DW Handyman PAT testing service provides businesses and organisations in London with a cost-effective and reliable solution to achieve compliance with electricity at work regulations.

Portable Appliance Tests are an important part of a robust health and safety policy. Adopting a PAT testing programme with DW Handyman, to involve all portable electrical appliances being tested regularly, typically annually, will significantly reduce the prospect of a harmful incident due to an electrical fault.

About our PAT Testing Service

Our uniformed and fully trained technicians will conduct a metered examination of each appliance to include the casing, lead and plug. We’ll examine the fuse type, tightness of connections, evidence of heat damage, cracks to the casing and standard of insulation.

Metered tests will then be conducted to determine:

  • Earth continuity
  • Insulation resistance
  • Polarity
  • Earth leakage

Each item will be marked to indicate whether it passed, using a sticker on which the test date will be entered. Items that fail will be removed and handed in at the conclusion of the test, so that arrangements for either disposal or repair can be made. Upon completion a certificate of inspection will be prepared detailing each item tested during the visit.

Replacement of fuses and the re-wiring of plugs will be included within the service.

Our PAT testing work schedule aims to minimise any disruption to the normal work routine of a business environment. This would be discussed and agreed with you prior to the test procedure.
